Hi, this is Rachel, a very long long ago batch swiss-keep-it-fresh choirian!
I've really wanted to go see you guys, but apparently, the polytechnic's timetable is really weird and i'm always having school when you guys are having holidays.
Next year will be your SYF, *i think*.
I don't know whether you guys started on your SYF pieces, but i believe all of you girls will do well. I only know octavillia and cassandra that batch, but i don't know the other batches. So here's a piece of advice (haha!) and a lil bit of my nagging (if you miss it.)
Some of you girls out there might have never experienced what's SYF like & just joined choir for less than a year, it's a long process. You might see it as a really tough one and might ask yourself, 'why the hell am i here?' But be glad you're here. Cos during this process, you'll grow up mentally, to be a more independent and less-complaining individual.
For those girls who have joined choir for more than a year but hasn't had SYF before, SYF is not the fun activities you do at school, nor is it the mere short tedious practices you have before a performance. The prep for SYF is long, hard and might require a few sacrifices. But don't complain nor whine, rmb, you're the example for your juniors, this is the time to show your leadership and show yourself what you're made of. You've seen your seniors do SYF before, some may wish you can join them, some may say, 'heng ah', but now you don't have much of a choice, so do it well once and for all, and you'll see the great harvest you reap after all these. ^^
And last but not least, for those who are the main seniors there, remember, you're always the people who'll influence your juniors. Seniors will shape the character of their juniors. So make sure you be the best role model in your juniors eyes. If you do something wrong, the juniors will either lose their respect in your or they'll just follow your example. There are rumours here and there now and then, but whatever it is, i've faith in my choir juniors. Do your best, and keep it fresh. Have confidence. Don't let what others do affect what you believe in. (LOL, so cliche.)
I hope that this post wasn't too naggy (LOL) and i think i've run out of words and advice. LOL.
take care, and i hope to drop by to hear your voices.
JIAYOU.
